Completed in 1999 by the Thai firm Architects 110 for the Botanical Garden Organization of Thailand, this complex of twelve greenhouses makes the Queen Sirikit Botanic Garden one of the country's largest glasshouse complexes. Nestled in the foothills north of Chiang Mai, at Mae Rim, it was designed as Thailand's very first botanical garden built to international standards, combining ex situ conservation with scientific research. The garden is now especially renowned for its breeding programs for Thailand's native orchids.
