History
The site was originally a municipal tree nursery. The official presentation of the park, issued by the Busan Urban Green Space Bureau (푸른도시가꾸기사업소), gives a nursery (양묘장) in operation from 1978 to 2002. In August 2002 the site was reorganised for family nature activities, renamed Daeyeon Tree Exhibition Garden (대연수목전시원) and opened to the public. It occupies lot 713 of Daeyeon-dong in Nam-gu, over 53,492 m². The park surrounds the United Nations Memorial Cemetery (유엔기념공원) along a strip about 50 metres wide and continues to the rear towards Peace Park (평화공원). The glass greenhouse appears in the list of facilities. The facility list is dated September 2025 and the presentation March 2026; they only show that the greenhouse was in the inventory on those dates.
Architecture and engineering
The official pages describe the greenhouse by its floor area, 395.5 m², and by its glass material (유리온실), without giving the frame, the height, the roof form or the heating and ventilation systems. The same inventory separates this building from a subtropical plant hall (아열대식물체험관), counted as a separate building (1동) in the 2026 presentation, and from a group of outdoor spaces (야외전시원 and a fruit-tree observation deck, 유실수 관찰데크). The presentation also mentions a management building (관리사). On OpenStreetMap, a single greenhouse polygon is mapped nearby: tagged landuse=greenhouse_horticulture, it covers about 417 m² and its outline measures roughly 23 m by 23 m.
Plant collections
The official presentation describes the park as showing about 600 tree species, arranged by ecological habitat. In the 2026 presentation, the subtropical plant hall (아열대식물체험관) is credited with 94 species in total, among them dendrobiums (드로비움), 덴파레, 박쥐란 and cymbidiums (심비디움). The same page names cacti (게발선인장, 기둥선인장) and aloe (알로에) in the succulent garden (다육식물원). The tropical garden (열대식물원) is credited with a banana (바나나), a coconut palm (코코스야자) and a Canary Islands date palm (카나리아야자). These plants are attached to the subtropical hall or to the outdoor zones, not to the greenhouse. The park also shows varieties of mugunghwa (무궁화 품종원) and a herb garden (허브원). No detailed species list for the greenhouse is published in the pages read, so a visit should not be planned around particular plants inside this building.
Visiting
Admission is free and the park is open all year: the tourism pages describe it as open at all times (상시 개방), with no closing day (연중무휴). VisitKorea gives the address 447beon-gil 24 Sinseon-ro, Daeyeon-dong, Nam-gu, and the park's management office answers on 051-888-6870. Parking is possible according to a tourism listing. The park adjoins the United Nations Memorial Cemetery and continues towards Peace Park, so the three can be combined in one walk; the same tourism listing also mentions the Busan Metropolitan City Museum nearby. Guided forest walks (숲해설) run from April to October, Monday to Saturday, 10:00-12:00 and 13:00-15:00; an undated municipal notice announces they are suspended from 22 July to 31 August and from 15 December to 16 March. Opening hours specific to the greenhouse should be requested from the management before a visit.
