Almost every New Zealand city built its greenhouse between 1907 and 1930: the winter gardens of Dunedin and Auckland, Christchurch's Cuningham House, New Plymouth's half-sunken fernery. A consistent, well-preserved group, usually set in city-centre botanic gardens.
