History

Designed by Tadao Ando's office, the house dates from 2013; the magazine Jutakutokushu published it in December 2014.

Architecture

The site is 7 m wide and 25 m deep. The house makes the most of it: a tube-shaped space, stretching from north to south, is set at first-floor level. A double rooflight slit 300 mm wide is cut into the ceiling and runs down into the wall; in the east wall opens a strip window 7,200 mm long. The play of light and shade creates a variety of places to be.
