Greenhouses to visit in Brazil

The Verrière atlas lists 5 greenhouses in Brazil, built between 1884 and 1991.

In Brazil, greenhouses are less about warmth than about shelter and display: orchid houses and bromeliad houses protect precious collections from sun and rain. Petrópolis's Palácio de Cristal, prefabricated in France in the 19th century, and Curitiba's three-domed glasshouse, now the city's emblem, are the best-known images.
