Edenya

Inaugurated on February 7, 2026, after several years of construction and an investment of €215 million, Edenya is presented by Pairi Daiza as the largest tropical greenhouse in the world, covering nearly four hectares beneath a single glass roof. Designed by architect Pascal De Beck, its three-dimensional structure of gold-lacquered steel rests on "tree-like" columns arranged in 50-by-50-meter modules, creating a clear volume of 20 to 24 meters in height with no intermediate columns to obstruct the vegetation. A double-insulated glazing system, developed specifically for the project's zoological requirements, makes it the largest double-skin glass roof ever built to date. Beneath this glass dome, around 1,800 plant species are ultimately meant to coexist with nearly 230 animal species, including hippopotamuses, alligators, jaguars and manatees, introduced gradually as conditions allow. With Edenya, the Belgian park at Brugelette joins the short list of the most ambitious attempts to recreate a complete tropical ecosystem under glass in Europe.
