The Indian greenhouses in the catalogue are a legacy of British-era botanical gardens: Bangalore's Lalbagh Glass House, inspired by the Crystal Palace, the glasshouse at Ooty in the Nilgiris, and the orchid collections of Darjeeling's Lloyd Botanical Garden.
