Laid out at the edge of the Bois de Boulogne on grounds first landscaped in 1761, this complex of municipal greenhouses is the work of Jean-Camille Formigé, who also designed the nearby Point du Jour viaduct. Its Grande Serre shelters palms, tree ferns and begonias beneath a metal-framed glasshouse typical of the Parisian Belle Époque. Attached since 1998 to the City of Paris Botanical Garden, the site still produces nearly 100,000 plants a year to decorate municipal buildings.
